Connemara Golf Links
Golfers are in for a real treat when they take to the Connemara Golf Links fairways. This 27 hole Championship course is not only positioned along the magnificent west coast of Connemara, offering views of the wild Atlantic Ocean and 12 Bens Mountain range, but it is also ranked as the highest golf course in County Galway. A memorable day's golfing is guaranteed.
Connemara National Park
The park covers 2,957 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands. The estate has something for everyone including nature trails, Diamond hill walks, picnic areas (indoor and outdoor), children’s playground, Tea Room and Visitor Centre. Visitors can learn about the Connemara landscape and there is an Information Desk to advise on walks in the park. The park offers varied flora and fauna, bird life, wildlife and is also home to a herd of pure-bred Connemara ponies.
The Sky Road
This scenic drive is famous for its outstanding views. The route takes you up along the high road where you can overlook picturesque Clifden Bay and its offshore islands of Inishturk and Turbot. You can return to Clifden via the low road. Along the route you can climb Monument Hill and enjoy more outstanding views. The route takes approximately 14.5kms to complete.
